the gift of food

I like to cook. I LOVE to bake. My husband actually is the cook in the family--he really enjoys it, though rarely has the time or energy. But with the baby here, he's been really great about cooking for us. He put a lot up in the freezer and has been using the bits and pieces of leftovers to do some really tasty things.
We have been getting some great food from our church friends. Pot roast, chicken, steak. No casseroles oddly (thankfully). Great sides too. asparagus, twice baked potatoes, good salads, etc.
We've been watching lots of Iron Chef lately too. It inspires P to want to cook more, so I'm all for it.

So Sue Me...

The only thing I've cooked lately that's been even remotely worth a post was some meatballs I made last night. But of course, I forgot to take pictures. I'm not in that habit yet. I'm trying. I go over and read the posts at Confessions of a Pioneer Woman for inspiration, too. One of my all time favorite sites. I wish I were half that witty. Oh well. Perhaps it's because I'm not a middle child.
Don't give up on me yet!
